The Missing S2Ep4 - Making of - my first experience on set

The filming of parts of The Missing Season two in Morocco was my first experience on a real Film set, it was great, this BBC TV Series is about an old detective (Tchéky Karyo) looking for a kidnapped girl, and he had to go all the way to Erbil in Iraq to meet a soldier and get some informations.. the Iraq scenes were filmed in Morocco because they could not film in Iraq for obvious reasons, some of the scenes were filmed in my town Agadir, I went to the casting with some friends and I was lucky enough to be called to act for the filming day, they gave me the role of a soldier.. As you may know acting is one of my passions too, it was a great day on the set, I got the chance to meet Tchéky Karyo and Ólafur Darri Ólafsson (he's really a nice guy and down to earth). I also had an overall idea about how things work there, the camera man and how does the camera roll, the sound systems and all the microphones, the mashines, the makeup...

I have made this video from all the videos I filmed that day and the scene I appeared in Episode 4 of the Missing season two

At that time I had long hair so the make up crew had to cover it under the soldier's hat, the two make up girls used some girly stuff to do it, lucky me it wasn't visible, then there are other techniciens in clothing and stuff who fixed our clothes and made them look real.. that scene that lasted one or maybe two minutes took the film crew about 4 hours, it was really tiring especially that we had to carry that heavy thing all this time.. making movies is really not as easy as it may look to some.
But it was a life changing experience, and the crew liked me so they called me for another American TV Series called 40 North, but this time I was not an extra, I was a Stand-in (for those who don't know, before the scene is filmed they bring other people that look like the actors in the scene especially in height and skin tone, so they can rehearse about the lighting and camera angles, and also put marks where the actors will stand and move, those people that do that are called STAND-INs, and that saves time and give the real actors some rest and time to prepare). I got the chance to see Jeff Daniels Yaaay! (the one who was with Jim Carrey in Dumb and Dumber) and also other lew famous actors. It is too bad that not many films happens in the city where I live orelse I would have the chance to act more and more and who knows where it will lead. But it was still an enriching experience, I still can't call myself an experienced filmmaker but I do have quiet an experience now.
